As
a former player and now coach, I have a huge passion for the sport of
volleyball. While playing for
Texas
State
University
in College my team won 2 Conference Championships and made two NCAA
Tournament appearances playing UT and
Hawaii
. While I was a Bobcat Volleyball Player I received the Bobcat Pride
Award and the Cream of the Crop Award presented by Oak Farms. During my
years as a college volleyball player I also worked hard on my academics
because a student athlete is a student first. I served as President of
the Student Athletic Advisory Council and I'm a life time member of two
National Honor Societies. During the years since graduation I have
continued to play volleyball on a National USAV Team here in
Austin
, so you can see I have a passion for the competition and camaraderie
that comes with the sport of volleyball!
I
have been a Head Coach for several teams and have now found my coaching
home here in Austin with only the best of them all; Austin Performance
Volleyball. My coaching style is one of a positive motivating spirit
which creates a fun and safe structured environment where athletes can
learn and grow. We learn from our mistakes, so therefore I believe
in not yelling at or belittling our athletes. As a coach it is my
responsibility to assist athletes in growing their confidence, giving
them the support they need to learn the sport and develop into a
complete team athlete. I know that what they learn in the gym will
directly influence their life outside of it. That is why I believe
coaches are great role models and should help instill lifelong qualities
in our athletes.
